BUFF® is a Spanish brand that started its journey in 1992 when Joan Rojas, the owner of a Catalan textile factory with a passion for motorsports, realized that he needed a simple accessory to keep his neck and head protected from wind, cold, and scorching sun while riding his motorcycle.

The idea of a multifunctional military scarf that could transform into a mask, headwear or scarf caught Rojas' attention. Experiments at his family textile factory with various materials and cuts led Rojas to discover how to produce seamless cylindrical microfiber scarves. After testing prototypes with family members, friends, and fellow athletes, BUFF® launched its first collection of seamless bandanas in 1992.
