Technologies

• Polygiene(Natural Silver Salt Technology) – a technology that prevents the development of unpleasant odors. Thanks to the inclusion of silver fibers derived from nature with antibacterial properties, this is an active odor control technology. • Merino Wool – comes from Australian Merino sheep which have unique characteristics. Natural and very soft material with a center fiber that is hygroscopic. This material keeps you warm even when damp and isolates moisture from your skin. This technology helps combat very low temperatures effectively. With its long fibers (65-100 mm) and small diameter (less than 24 microns), the yarn is extremely fine while providing excellent temperature regulation and moisture wicking to keep your skin breathable.

A BUFF® story began in Spain in 1992 when Joan Rojas, owner of a Catalan textile factory and motorcycle enthusiast, realized he needed a simple accessory for more comfortable riding—something that protected his neck and head from biting winds, cold weather, and blazing sun.

The idea was inspired by multifunctional military scarves that could transform into masks, headwear, or scarves. Experiments at his family’s textile factory led Rojas to create a seamless cylindrical microfiber scarf design. After prototypes were tested by family members and athlete friends in 1992, BUFF® launched its first collection of seamless bandanas.

In 2017 BUFF® significantly expanded its product range beyond bandanas to include various headwear suitable for both sports and everyday life.
