Technologies

• Coolnet UV+: A material made from recycled polyester fibers. The weaving pattern and fiber structure give the fabric enhanced capillary properties to absorb excess moisture (when in contact with wet skin), transfer it to the outer layer of the fabric quickly evaporate it. Coolnet UV+ is also extremely lightweight (20% lighter than classic Original Buff), stretchy, and offers excellent sun protection with UPF 50+.

Brand

BUFF® is a Spanish brand founded in 1992 when Joan Rojas realized that a simple accessory was needed for more comfortable motorcycle riding—something that protects the neck and head from wind chill and harsh sunlight.

Rojas was inspired by the idea of a multifunctional military scarf transforming into masks or headwear. Experiments at his family’s textile factory led him to create seamless cylindrical microfiber scarves. After testing prototypes with family members and friends who were athletes, the first collection of seamless bandanas under the BUFF® logo launched in 1992.

In 2017 BUFF® significantly expanded its product range beyond just bandanas to include other types of headwear suitable for both sports and everyday life.
