Technology

• Coolnet UV+: A fabric derived from recycled polyester fibers. The unique weaving technique enhances its capillary properties to absorb excess moisture (upon contact with wet skin), transport it to the outer layer of the fabric, and quickly evaporate it. Coolnet UV+ is also significantly lighter (20% lighter than classic Original Buff), stretchy, and offers excellent sun protection rated at UPF 50+.

Brand

BUFF® is a Spanish brand founded in 1992 by Joan Rojas, who was passionate about motorcycling and owned a Catalan textile factory. He envisioned a simple accessory to protect his neck and head from wind, cold weather, and harsh sun for more comfortable motorcycle rides.

Rojas liked the idea of a multifunctional military scarf that could transform into a mask or headscarf. Experimenting in his family’s textile factory led him to create a seamless microfiber tubular scarf. After testing prototypes with family members and athlete friends, he launched BUFF®'s first collection of seamless bandanas in 1992.

In 2017 BUFF® significantly expanded its range by producing not only bandanas but also other headwear items suitable for both sports enthusiasts and everyday life.
