the perwanger tannery boasts a leather legacy with over two centuries of family tradition, passed down through five generations since 1780. located in the heart of the italian alps, in auer (bz), it began tanning hides from local farmers, a common practice in every community to supply local shoemakers. in the early 70s, driven by a passion for mountain hikes and after various trials, josef perwanger succeeded in giving water-repellent properties to his leathers, eliminating the climbers' need to oil their boots. thus, suede nepal perwanger came into being. thanks to its excellent water resistance, breathability, and unique production techniques, nepal suede perwanger became widely adopted in mountain footwear, leisure, and safety shoe sectors.

USE AND MAINTENANCE:

- if the leather surface is dirty, we recommend using a dry brush to clean it off.

- for very dirty surfaces, a wet brush with water may be used.

- do not apply any degreasing cleaners or nitro-based solvents.

- nepal suede leather has a water-repellent treatment that typically doesn’t require renewal. if you wish to apply a waterproofer, use only water or silicone-based products. other types may significantly damage its water-repellent features.

- avoid using oil-based, animal grease-based, or similar products on nepal suede leather.

- avoid contact with acidic liquids or powders (e.g., hydrated lime).

- if the leather gets wet, let it dry slowly at room temperature, away from any heat sources such as fires, fireplaces, heaters, or radiators.
