[BUFF®](https://www.buff.com/) is a Spanish brand founded in 1992 by Joan Rojas, who was passionate about motorcycles and owned a Catalan textile factory. He came up with the idea of creating a simple accessory to protect the neck and head from wind, cold weather, and intense sunlight to make motorcycle journeys more comfortable.

The idea of a multifunctional military-style scarf that could be transformed into a mask or headscarf caught Rojas's attention. Experimentation at his family textile factory with various materials led to finding a way to produce seamless microfiber tubular scarves. After prototypes were tested by family members; friends; acquaintances; athletes associated with Rojas’s circle; BUFF® launched its first collection of seamless bandanas in 1992.
