Due to its substantial thickness, using this type of scarf as a mask during high-intensity sports like skiing or winter running is not recommended since it can make breathing difficult.

Brand Story

The BUFF® brand hails from Spain and began its journey in 1992 when Joan Rojas—a motorbike enthusiast who owned a textile factory—conceived an accessory to protect the neck and head from wind, cold, and blazing sun for more comfortable motorcycle rides.

This idea evolved into a multifunctional military scarf that could also be transformed into a mask or headscarf. Rojas experimented in his family’s textile factory with various materials and cuts until he discovered how to produce seamless microfiber tubular scarves. After testing prototypes on his family members, friends, and athlete acquaintances, the first collection of seamless bandanas was launched under the BUFF® brand in 1992.
