BUFF is a Spanish brand that began in 1992 when Joan Rojas, the owner of a Catalan textile factory and an avid motorsport enthusiast, realized that he needed a simple accessory for more comfortable motorcycle riding—something to protect his neck and head from wind, cold, and intense sun.

Rojas was inspired by the idea of a multifunctional military scarf that could transform into a mask, headwear or scarf. Experiments at his family textile factory led him to successfully produce seamless cylindrical microfiber scarves. After prototypes were tested by family members, friends, and fellow athletes, BUFF launched its first collection of seamless bandanas in 1992.
In 2017, BUFF significantly expanded its product line to include not just bandanas but also other headwear suitable for both sports and everyday life.
