Osprey Mutant 22 is an ergonomic backpack designed for climbing and mountain trekking. Aside from its fresh new look, this model features an updated load distribution and suspension system along with a bunch of technological innovations. The back frame is structured with contoured arches and a sturdy polymer sheet to reduce the overall weight of the frame. The Mutant backpack is made with a newly designed hydrophobic material on the outer layer of the back and shoulder straps, preventing snow buildup. The primary material used is waterproof 420HD nylon packcloth.

This backpack series has some differences in functionality, aside from its common size and weight. It features a single top zip opening, and the traditional hip belt is replaced with simple straps that can be tucked away or removed. All backpacks in this series come with compression straps and universal ToolLock attachments for ice axes on the outside. Functional designs are meticulously thought out, and modern ultra-durable materials ensure comfort and reliability in any situation.
